The area itself provides innumerable opportunities for outdoor recreation, some organized, some not. There is an active Fitness Place, soccer, golf, badminton, curling & indoor volleyball. There are also many classes in Yoga, Dance and Karate. There is a Theatre group, a band, many music groups, hiking and biking clubs, a quilting guild, classes for adults and much more. For very young children, there is the Strong Start program at the Crawford Bay School.
In summer, the beaches, the lake, numerous hiking/mountain biking trails and there are several marinas along the East Shore. Fishing licenses are sold by local stores, and several also carry bait.
In the winter, the golf courses turn into x-c skiing areas – but please don’t ride your ATVs or snowmobiles on them, as they damage the turf. The back country is reached easily for deep powder.
